Buchanan-Verplanck Recognizes Veterans Day by Celebrating Local Veterans

On Monday, Nov. 10, Buchanan-Verplanck Elementary School turned its November PBIS assembly into an opportunity to recognize and honor local veterans and teach students about Veterans Day.

The assembly, led by principal Dr. Cynthia Kramer, introduced a panel of local veterans, in addition to Superintendent of Schools Michael A. Tromblee, who served in the U.S. Air Force. Dr. Kramer then asked students to identify ways we can thank veterans for their service.

Dr. Kramer also read aloud the Todd Parr book, "The Thankful Book," and discussed how being Sailor STRONG relates to Veterans Day. The event ended with students handing special gifts they had made to the veterans in attendance.

Said Dr. Kramer: "We thank you for everything you have done for us and for our country!"
